1. Purpose and scope

This Code guides our people in conducting business legally, ethically and responsibly. It reflects our values and works alongside our other policies, including our Privacy Policy, Modern Slavery Statement and Terms & Conditions. Where a situation is not covered directly by this Code, we expect our people to act in line with its spirit and to seek guidance if in doubt.

2. Honesty and fairness

We are honest and forthright in all of our dealings with customers, employees and business partners. We provide clear and transparent information about how our energy and other utility comparisons are calculated and presented. We do not misrepresent our products or services, make misleading statements, or engage in unfair or deceptive practices.

3. Treating customers fairly

We put customers at the heart of our business and aim to deliver fair outcomes. We give clear, accurate and impartial information so customers can make informed decisions, and we do not accept payment to feature or rank a supplier more favourably. We take particular care to support customers who may be in vulnerable circumstances.

4. Conflicts of interest

We avoid situations where our personal or business interests conflict with the interests of others or with our duty to provide objective services. Employees and contractors disclose any real or potential conflicts of interest so that they can be managed appropriately.

5. Anti-bribery, gifts and hospitality

We do not offer, give, request or accept bribes or any other improper advantage, and we comply with the Bribery Act 2010. Any gifts or hospitality must be reasonable and proportionate, and must never be offered or accepted in order to improperly influence a business decision.

6. Confidentiality

We protect the confidential information of our customers, employees and business partners, and only disclose such information where permitted or required by law.

7. Data protection and privacy

We are committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of all individuals. We adhere to data protection laws and regulations, ensuring that personal data is collected, stored and handled in a secure and lawful manner, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Compliance with laws

We comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and we expect employees and contractors to understand and adhere to the legal requirements applicable to our business and their roles.

9. Protection of company assets

We safeguard the assets and resources of the company and ensure they are used legally, ethically and only for legitimate business purposes.

10. Professionalism and accountability

We commit to the highest levels of professionalism in all our dealings with customers, employees and business partners, and we continuously strive for excellence in our service and the quality of our products. We take responsibility for our actions as a company, and we hold ourselves accountable for the impact of our decisions and activities on our customers, employees, business partners and the environment.

11. Human rights and modern slavery

We respect human rights and have zero tolerance for slavery, forced labour and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains. Our approach is set out in our Modern Slavery Statement.

12. Diversity and inclusion

We value diversity and inclusion in our workforce and among our business partners, and we respect and celebrate the differences among people, cultures and perspectives. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment or bullying based on protected characteristics such as age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

13. Sustainability

We are committed to operating our business in a responsible and sustainable manner. We consider the environmental, social and economic impacts of our decisions and actions, and we strive to minimise our negative impacts and maximise our positive contributions to society.

14. Raising concerns

We encourage a culture where our people feel safe to raise concerns about illegal or unethical conduct. Concerns can be raised with a line manager or our People & Culture team, and any reported concern will be treated confidentially and without retaliation.

15. Breaches of this Code

These principles apply to all of our operations and represent our commitment to conducting business legally, ethically and responsibly. Breaches of this Code will be taken seriously and may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or business relationships.

16. Governance and review

This Code is endorsed by our Managing Director and reviewed regularly to ensure it remains current and effective.
