These terms and conditions apply to your use of the website utilitysavingexpert.com and the services we provide through it. By using this website, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to act in accordance with these terms. Together with our Privacy Policy, they form an agreement between you and us. If you do not agree to them, please stop using this website.

1. About us

This website is owned and operated by Simply Quote Comparison Ltd, trading as Utility Saving Expert, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15008284), whose registered office is Sentinel House, Ancells Business Park, Harvest Crescent, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 2UZ. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Simply Quote Comparison Ltd.

2. Using this website

This website and our services are intended for businesses and users in the United Kingdom. By using the website you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and are authorised to act on behalf of any business you represent. We reserve the right to amend these terms from time to time by updating this page, and any changes take effect when published.

3. Our service and impartiality

Utility Saving Expert helps UK businesses compare and switch their energy and other utility contracts. We arrange the comparison and switching service for you, and the comparison itself is carried out using technology provided by our partner, Love Business Group Ltd, on our behalf.

We are committed to being an impartial service. We do not receive payment in return for placing a supplier on our website, or for how a supplier or product is featured or ranked. Some partners pay us a commission if you purchase a product through us, but this has no bearing on the choice of products or providers shown or on how they are presented.

4. Information, not advice

We endeavour to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, and to correct errors or omissions as soon as we become aware of them. However, we cannot guarantee that all information is always accurate and free from errors, and rates and product details are provided by, or taken from, sources we believe to be reliable.

Nothing on this website constitutes financial, investment or other professional advice, or a recommendation or endorsement by us. The information is provided for general purposes to help you choose a product that suits your requirements, and should not be relied on alone. You are responsible for checking the suitability of any product or service, and for reading the provider’s own terms and conditions before purchasing. Any contract you enter into is with the provider, not with us.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. You must not misuse the website by introducing malicious code, attempting to gain unauthorised access, placing excessive load on our systems, or using it in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful. We may restrict or withdraw your access if you breach these terms.

7. Website availability

We aim to provide uninterrupted access to the website, but we cannot guarantee it will be available at all times. We may make the website, or parts of it, unavailable at any time and without notice, for example for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or availability of those websites, and a link does not imply our endorsement. Your use of this website is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, or from reliance on any information published on it.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. As our service is provided free of charge to you, we are not liable for any business losses, and we do not exclude or limit any rights you may have that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against all claims, actions, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of this website or your breach of these terms.

11. Prize draw: Win £1,000 towards your business energy

These terms govern our “Win £1,000 towards your business energy” prize draw. By entering, you accept these terms.

Promoter

The promoter is Simply Quote Comparison Ltd (trading as Utility Saving Expert), Sentinel House, Ancells Business Park, Harvest Crescent, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 2UZ (company number 15008284).

Eligibility

The draw is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except employees, officers and agents of Simply Quote Comparison Ltd and Love Business Group Ltd, their agencies, and anyone else professionally connected with the draw, together with their immediate families. You must be a newsletter subscriber at the time of the relevant draw.

How to enter

To enter, subscribe to the Utility Saving Expert newsletter at utilitysavingexpert.com. All active subscribers are automatically entered into each monthly draw, with a limit of one entry per person per monthly draw. Entries made by automated means, third parties or in bulk are not permitted and will be void. Subscribing to our newsletter is free, and no purchase is necessary to enter or to win.

Closing dates and draws

A separate draw is held for each calendar month. To be entered into a given month’s draw, you must be a subscriber at 23:59 (UK time) on the last day of that month. One winner is selected at random from all eligible entries, using a verifiably random process, within five working days after the end of the month.

The prize

Each monthly winner receives £1,000, paid by bank transfer (BACS) to a UK bank account in the winner’s name. One prize is available per monthly draw. The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative other than the cash prize itself.

Claiming the prize

The winner will be notified by email within five working days of the draw, using the address they subscribed with. The winner must respond and provide valid bank details within 14 days of being notified. We will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If we cannot reach the winner, or they do not respond within 14 days, we reserve the right to disqualify that entry and draw an alternative winner. The prize will be paid within 30 days of us confirming the winner’s details.

Winners’ details

The surname and county of each winner will be available for three months after the relevant draw by writing to hello@utilitysavingexpert.com. By entering, you agree that we may publish this information. You may object to this or ask us to reduce the detail we publish; in that case we may still provide the required information to the Advertising Standards Authority if asked.

Data protection

We process entrants’ personal data in line with our Privacy Policy. A winner’s details are used only to administer the draw, award the prize and meet our legal obligations.

General

The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. We reserve the right to amend these draw terms, or to suspend or cancel the draw, where reasonably necessary or due to circumstances beyond our control, without liability to entrants. The draw and these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The draw is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any social media platform.

12. Privacy and cookies

We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, and use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy. Please read these to understand how we collect, use and protect your information.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time by amending this page. Any changes take effect when published, so please check back periodically. Continuing to use the website after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of this website, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
