Built for larger and more complex energy buyers
A standard online comparison is perfect for smaller businesses. But once your usage climbs, your meters get more complex or you run several sites, a tailored procurement approach almost always beats an off-the-shelf renewal. Procurement is the right route if you recognise your business here.
High-usage sites
Consuming over 100,000 kWh of electricity or gas a year, where even a fraction of a penny per unit is worth thousands.
Multi-site portfolios
Several premises on different suppliers and end dates that you want aligned, consolidated and billed together.
Half-hourly meters
HH and advanced-metered supplies with a maximum demand over 100kW that need bespoke, negotiated pricing.
Energy-intensive sectors
Manufacturing, cold storage, agriculture, hospitality and healthcare, where energy is a major line on the P&L.
Renewal & budget certainty
Organisations that need to fix a budget, manage risk over several years, or time the market on their terms.
Green & ESG-led buyers
Businesses that want REGO-backed renewable supply or PPAs written into the contract for their reporting.
What is business energy procurement?
Business energy procurement is the process of sourcing and securing your electricity and gas in a structured, strategic way, rather than simply accepting a renewal or a single quote.
Instead of comparing a handful of standard tariffs, we take your consumption data to the market and invite suppliers to compete for your contract. A good procurement strategy balances price against your appetite for risk, your budget certainty, your sustainability goals and the future needs of the business, then locks in the right deal at the right time.
For a larger organisation, that structured approach typically unlocks pricing and contract terms that are simply not available through an off-the-shelf comparison, and it takes the administrative load off your team.
How our tendering process works
When we take your contract to tender, your requirements are presented to our panel of suppliers, who compete to win your business by offering their most competitive pricing.
We build your energy RFP
We pull together your meter details, annual consumption and contract dates into a clear request for pricing, based on your usage profile and sector.
Suppliers compete
Your requirement goes out to our whole panel at once. Suppliers bid against each other, which drives their pricing down rather than up.
Prices land in 1–4 days
Wholesale-linked pricing is time-sensitive, so we give each supplier a window to bid. Quotes typically come back within one to four business days.
We present & you decide
We lay out the offers side by side with a clear recommendation. You choose the deal, and we handle the paperwork and the switch.
We manage the whole contract, not just the switch
Procurement is not a one-off quote. From the first data-gathering call to the day your contract ends, we monitor the market, negotiate on your behalf and keep your renewals on track so you never drift onto expensive out-of-contract rates.
Our support is free to you. Like most brokers, we are paid by the supplier once a contract completes, and we are always upfront about how that works.

Business energy procurement questions, answered
What is business energy procurement?
It’s the structured process of sourcing and securing your electricity and gas, rather than accepting a renewal or a single quote. We take your consumption data to the market, run a competitive tender across our supplier panel, and help you choose the right contract for your price, risk and sustainability goals. For larger organisations it typically unlocks pricing and terms that aren’t available through a standard comparison.
How is procurement different from a normal comparison?
A standard comparison shows you off-the-shelf tariffs for smaller supplies. Procurement is a bespoke, negotiated route for larger, high-usage or multi-site businesses. Instead of picking from fixed prices, your requirement is put out to tender and suppliers compete for it, which is how bespoke pricing is won.
What size of business is procurement for?
It’s best suited to organisations using more than around 100,000 kWh a year, businesses with half-hourly (HH) meters, and anyone running several sites. If energy is a significant cost on your P&L, a tendered approach usually beats a renewal. Not sure where you sit? Call us and we’ll tell you honestly which route fits.
How long does the tender take?
Once we have your details and Letter of Authority, pricing typically comes back within one to four business days. Wholesale-linked quotes are time-sensitive, so we give suppliers a defined window to bid, then present the offers to you quickly while the prices are still live.
What is an energy RFP?
An RFP (request for pricing) is the document we build to take your contract to market. It sets out your meter details, annual consumption, contract dates and any specific requirements, so every supplier bids on a like-for-like basis. A well-built RFP is what makes suppliers compete on the same footing.
Can you handle multiple sites on one contract?
Yes. We regularly consolidate multi-site portfolios that sit on different suppliers and end dates onto a single, aligned agreement with one point of contact and, where possible, one bill. Grouping sites into a basket can also unlock a better collective rate.
What’s the difference between fixed and flexible procurement?
A fixed contract locks your unit rate and standing charge for the whole term, giving complete budget certainty. Flexible purchasing buys your volume in tranches over time to average out the market and take advantage of price dips. Fixed suits most businesses wanting certainty; flexible suits large, high-consumption sites comfortable with managed risk.
Do you offer green or renewable procurement?
Yes. We can source REGO-backed renewable electricity or arrange a power purchase agreement (PPA) as part of your contract, so your energy supports your ESG and scope 2 reporting. Green tariffs are now often priced comparably to standard supply.
How much does it cost to use your procurement service?
Our support is free to you. Like most energy brokers, we’re paid a commission by the supplier once a contract completes, and we’re always transparent about how that works. There’s no upfront fee and no obligation to accept any offer we present.
When should I start the procurement process?
You can secure a new deal up to 12 months before your current contract ends, and starting early is an advantage. It gives us time to run a proper tender and to pick a good moment in the market, rather than being forced to buy on your end date. It also avoids rolling onto expensive out-of-contract or deemed rates.
