Better Energy is an independent energy provider and has been supplying gas to UK homes and businesses since 2011. They currently do not supply electricity, but hope to offer this in the near future as they have recently required the necessary license to do so.
The company’s motto is 'Same Energy, Better Price' and it hopes to provide customers with cheaper gas and excellent customer service.
The gas provider has call centres based in Nottingham. Better Energy only provides online billing for its customers.
Better Energy started supplying gas to homes in the East Midlands in 2011. They now offer their tariffs to customers across England, Wales and Scotland.
Better Energy was founded in 2011 by Martin Thomas with the tagline ‘same energy, better price’. Martin has worked in the energy industry since the early 1980s before setting up the company.
They supply gas to standard and prepayment meter customers, and offer a range of fixed rate and variable rate tariffs for standard meter customers.
The company has consistently stated that their prices are lower when compared to the ‘Big Six’, primarily due to having lower operating costs than these competitors.
Better Energy is one of many smaller independent energy companies that have entered the market in recent years. They offer competitive pricing for their gas services.
